Info evening in Schüpfheim: "Inheritance without dispute - creating clarity and security"

Attend our information evening in Schüpfheim: Inheritance without disputes - find out how clear rules create security and avoid conflicts.

This year's presentations by Clientis Entlebucher Bank and Gewerbe-Treuhand, Schüpfheim branch, took place on September 24, 2025 in the Adler community hall in Schüpfheim. They were dedicated to the topic "Inheritance without dispute - creating clarity and security". Inheritance law, powers of attorney and advance care directives are often complicated and in an emergency there is a lack of clarity. The presentations showed how provisions can be made in good time and how clarity can be created for the family. More than 140 interested people were informed about how they can avoid disputes between heirs by making clever and early estate planning arrangements. This also applies in particular to communities of heirs.

In the first presentation, Chantal Steinmann from Gewerbe-Treuhand addressed the most common questions and fears in the event of death or incapacity. She clearly explained how you can protect yourself in the event of death, incapacity and the (current) state of capacity. Marriage and inheritance contracts as well as lifetime estate planning serve this purpose. She also explained how advance directives, living wills and digital estates can be regulated.

There are different views on powers of attorney after death. However, it is important for surviving dependants to know whether they can continue to make payments via the deceased's account in the event of death, e.g. for business operations. Patrick Rüefli, a speaker from Clientis Entlebucher Bank, explained how account structures, bank powers of attorney and the bank's procedures are managed in the event of an emergency. He explained how the bank proceeds in the event of death, the types of banking relationships, which documents must be submitted to the bank and the characteristics of bank powers of attorney.

After the approximately one-hour presentations, the participants were able to discuss their individual questions with the speaker during the subsequent aperitif riche. The event met with lively interest and was well received throughout. The many valuable suggestions for estate planning are summarized in a documentation that can be ordered free of charge at veranstaltungen@gewerbe-treuhand.ch.
