How many years in advance should partial retirement be planned?

Partial retirement should at best be planned two years before the first reduction in workload.

What precautions can I take to cushion the financial consequences of partial retirement?

The full salary can still be insured with the pension fund even though the workload has been reduced. This will not result in a reduction in benefits later on. However, the conditions of BVG Art. 33a must be observed.
