Checking entitlement to helplessness allowance or supplementary benefits

Who can apply for a helplessness allowance?

The costs in care homes are enormous and the eligibility check for a helplessness allowance is complex. We can support you quickly and competently with our experience.

Every person, whether self-employed or employed, is entitled. Thanks to the helplessness allowance, people with a disability can lead an independent life. Anyone who is permanently dependent on the help or supervision of third parties due to health impairments in everyday life (dressing, undressing, getting up, sitting down, eating, etc.) is considered helpless. AHV and IV pensions and daily allowances are basically intended to cover the basic needs of a disabled person. If these benefits are not sufficient, supplementary benefits can be claimed.

An application for helplessness allowance must be submitted to the AHV and IV office. The application for supplementary benefits must be submitted to the AHV branch office at the place of residence or the cantonal compensation office.
